Compared To Some Poem by Francis Duggan

Compared To Some

Compared to some my worries are not heavy
Though my best clothing only op shop clothes
My only problem is a lack of money
And on trees and bushes money never grows.

But i am what you'd call a lucky fellow
Since lady luck has always been kind to me
I could be one living in fear in a war zone
Or a victim of famine living in poverty.

Or a poor homeless and Stateless person in a refugee camp
Things could be worse for me that's how it does appear
With enough to eat and a warm bed to sleep on
A tear for me would seem a wasted tear.

Compared to some one might say i am lucky
I feel the good days are not far away
The sun is shining and the birds are singing
And it is a very pleasant Winter's day.
