Evy Moore

(september 2 1990 / Laurel Hill)

Completed Suicide

Heart bled dry from Love's tight squeeze
Life force faded like a warm summer breeze
Eyesight lost to a dense misty fog
Strong bones frail like a hollowed out log

Insides dark like a moonless night
My soul now dark but it once shined bright
My tears cold air but once wet pain
My blood now flows from my open vein

Poem of the Day

poet Henry David Thoreau

My books I'd fain cast off, I cannot read,
'Twixt every page my thoughts go stray at large
Down in the meadow, where is richer feed,
And will not mind to hit their proper targe.
