Condoned Alone To Own Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Condoned Alone To Own

You may claim what has been stolen,
Yours alone to own.
And you may spend ill gotten fortunes,
Building fences and walls.
Constructed from corrupted ideals,
With others who also,
Condone this shown to be well known.
But all that you claim,
To distort throughout history...
Deceived to have believed.
It will still be the Earth.
Left to receive as the ultimate benefactor.
When the air you breathe,
Is taken from you to leave.
And all that you claim is yours alone to own,
May have your name printed on a tombstone.
In time to fade.
Like your wicked misdeeds.
Gone erased to have long been replaced,
From minds much more enlightened...
Than yours to have been restricted,
To ignorance, conflict and division...
Focused upon limited stupidity and self destruction.
And that will be remembered,
As yours alone condoned to own!
