Connived To Contrive Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Connived To Contrive

Graceful and slick moving.
Rhythmic.
With manipulative abilities.
And suspected,
To connive and contrive.
Alibis to have them empathized.

Fast and quick are these feet.
Taught to hop and leap.
So swift nothing sticks.
As if freshly dip in Teflon.
Having many swear,
What they thought appeared.
But not know when and where it had gone.

Fast and quick,
Are these Teflon fleeting feet.
Capable to step into vats of sleaze.
Then appear in a tuxedo.
To have a wholesome integrity believed.

Graceful and slick.
And admired by those,
Also ivy league skilled.
Prepared to respond,
Under heat with ease.
Then from a grilling leave,
Effectively charming.
But alarmingly remaining,
Dangerously manipulative.
