Continued Unrest Poem by Ray Hansell

Continued Unrest

How come some politicians
Don't condemn the violence
Can any body tell me
Why they've all gone silent

While America is burning
These politicians are hiding
It doesn't take a genuis to know
With whom some are sidding

Would they rather see destruction
On the streets every night
How can they in their own minds
Believe this is right

The sad fact of the matter is
Some are using this to get votes
While many in the country
Have all but run out of hope

Maybe some of the unrest
Should happen at their front door
Then maybe they would realize
This can't continue anymore

Something better change
I hope it happens fast
They say those who hesitate
Are destined to finish last
