Contract Paided Poem by Andra Wadas

Contract Paided

Rating: 5.0

The perils of hell's gate
knocking at my door
trickery of a sweet voice
from the face of Lucifer
Curiosity eating at me
wanting just a peek
to have the doors fly open
welcoming flames at my feet
stench of burning souls
hovering thick in the air
wanting to run
and hide somewhere
eyes transfixed
on the dance of the flames
sweet voice of Lucifer
playing the game
souls keep turning everyday
today is just not going my way
contract came due
he is here to collect
one soul bought
from years past
when I was lost
anger filled my life
now I am caught
between life and death
tears swimming down my skin
his hand caresses my shoulder
starting to pull me in
door slams behind
I have vanished from sight
entered my now resting place
the flames consume
no more life to live
from a mistake from the past
life ending to soon.
