Cosmic Existence Poem by Upendra Majhi

Cosmic Existence

Rating: 5.0

The black mole of monsoon cloud
in the blue forehead of earth,
the kathkali colours of
red, green, pink, yellow
on the cheek, chin ofearth,
The ocean of joy-tear in its eyes,
the golden and silver bindi
of moon and sun,
it rolls on and on on its sojurn,
hanging in its cosmic point,
earmarked by destiny, the blue eyed
planet is ours.

Thank you Mangasahab.I remember the first comments for my poem what I remember at 59. Yours was the first recognition of the poem that ultimately resulted in myself being declared as poet of the day.Second recognition was from Mr.Smith.Two original radars for true poetic sensibilities

Lovely translation. This planet is not ours alone; we share it with all those living and nonliving things that occupy this planet.

Upendra ji, this is a poem, most beautifully articulated with excellent comparison and metaphors. i liked the way you described cosmic existence with the colours or the make up of Kathakali dancers. To quote: The ocean of joy-tear in its eyes, the golden and silver bindi of moon and sun, it rolls on and on on its sojurn, hanging in its cosmic point, earmarked by destiny, the blue eyed planet is ours. You truly deserve a full vote.
