Could I Face Another Day? Poem by Tess Rockenstire

Could I Face Another Day?

God forgive me I am disappointed today.
I feel lifeless.
Hunchback, dismayed of my shortcoming.
I don’t understand your will at this hour.

But I must face another day,
Could I carry on?
I feel my life is futile.
Life’s tragedy is amenable who can comprehend?

I wish I could see my life thru a wine bottle,
Or positioned it at an exact aim of an arrowhead.
Would life be different then?
Could I be happier then?

Selfless act of love I gave,
I ask for your favor
Would I carry the cross?
And forbid me from joy and happiness.

Realigned your will.
I famished for your presence Lord.
Give me hope that I may see life beyond my own understanding.
Let me see the beauty of the universe once more.
