Count Your Blessings Poem by Tasadduq Hussain

Count Your Blessings

When the pain and suffering of life
Leaves no feelings of delight
The anguish and desperation seem to drive.
Look around and visit the places
Where real sufferings reside
The hospitals, the nursing homes and like

Look at those speechless weak old people
Being moves around in wheelchairs
Lost in their thoughts of no hope insight.
See that handsome young man amputated on both thighs
And another young fellow with deformed body, in stride
The elderly lady riding around in her wheel chair
Searching for her long lost son, a mental demise.

Oh God of love and mercy, please forgive me,
I have nothing to complain
When I see this tragedy of life all around me,
I am much more blessed, thank you
I pray thee to please alleviate this human tragedy
This human suffering all around in sight.
