Counting Down To Zero Poem by Andrus Cassian

Counting Down To Zero

An ounce of space
begins this standard cycle
carrying this frail tempo
Does it dawn on you yet I'm reclusive so I don't be bothered
Eons I spend in solitary confinement for my benefit
for I don't have to justify to myself my plan of action
Got time for an argument, no I think I don't
Home, here I thought things would be different
in this place, I didn't think it'd be copy of what I escaped
Just another reason to run to California
keep the expectations rising and you're the one who's disappointed
Losing, I've had enough of it all
Mother Aphrodite, allow me to win to my heart's content
Negate all my past luck, make me a hero to my heroine
Omit my outlandish insensitivity and sport my wishes
Please, for me; oh please for me
Ready or not, I'm done with this
Steady or not, I'm flying away
Today, I'm just sick of it all
Unicycle, in my head I'm the only one turning like a wheel
Virgin are my thoughts for I'm simply unaware of what to do
We Were Sharks, We Were Promised Jetpacks; motivate me
You say you got the heart for this, well yeah I do
Zero, the final click on the countdown and I'm still stuck at 1
