Country Night Poem by Nicole GravellPellerino

Country Night

The sweet breeze
gently blows
kissing my soft cheeks
fireflies and freedom linger
in the humind summer air

swaying back and forth
on a old and rusted porch swing
listening to music of
a cheerful cricket's song
playing in the distance

lying on a river bank
toes in the grass
with hands up high
and counting the stars
beneath the midnight sky

Windows rolled down
flying through some
old dirt back road
Music cranked up
and singing every word

So untamed
So wild and free
feeling so alive
everything we ever wanted to do and be
on a wild country night
