Crashing Down Poem by Saucy Elmo

Crashing Down

Don't give up so easily.
I can see the truth.
It's hiding in your eyes.
Is this what you expected?
Don't even deny!
My heart is breaking with every knife you through at me...

We came crashing down; scattered all around.
Broken pieces of love thrown away.
I thought this is what you wanted?
Time was never on our side.
What about those good times?
Do we forget them too?
Your internal misery made me see -
That maybe you're better off without me!
But things get better with time.
So hold your head up high, my dear.
As the world comes crashing down.

Don't think I'm not as guilty.
I know my mistakes.
Set up too high, destined to fall.
Is this what we intended?
Not according to me!
I wish we could change the past,
But it's too late now.

As I see what you put me through,
I realize I'm so much better without you!
I wish it was all a lie.
I wish it had been a dream.
I wish I never fell for those eyes.
I wish you never fell in love with me.

Just walk away with no words spoken.
Leave my heart and soul unbroken.
