Crowded! Poem by Robert Burgan

Crowded!

Thank you
With every ounce of the sincerity I have left
It's yours
If God was here right now
If he could hear this conversation
I'd ask him to bless you for helping me out in my time of self-sabotage
But it's only you and I in this comfortable room
With the air conditioning blowing on our warm cheeks
The television screaming politics louder than anything that Trump or Hillary said this week
I usually just ignore it anyway; I'm more focused on my gratitude
I'm more enticed by the time I have left
Before I have to go back out there
Into that world I destroyed
Only thing I can do now is be a guest and promise that I'll make my life better
Your company has been nice
Your time resembles porcelain
I'd hate to be the one to shatter it
I am a china shop crowded with bulls
I run through myself like a field of flowers
I am dwindling like that rainbow
Maybe I'm the only one who can see it.
Thank you
With every ounce of desperation I have left
It's..
Not yours
Its mine
I'll keep it to myself.
