Crushed Poem by Lourd Jackson

Crushed

Are you smothered beneath all that i am?

By the raging feelings that cant be contained within me?

By the swirling emotions you cause?

If so I am terribly sorry. I do not mean to cause distress

Its just, the love I feel for you is unlike the rest

The words to try to explain, jumble together

Crushing the mind with letters as i try to form a sentence

And as a poet, I know it. My mind is beginning to lock

That when the words stop flowing, Its considered writers block

But instead of paper and pen, its in matters of the heart

Im torn apart as this feeling consumes me

Not that it dooms me, or ruins me but simply just confuse me

Cause Im not sure if Im projecting it right

And Im trying to do so with all of my might

And this trial and error begins to overwhelms us both

So now Im crushed within this confusion

Its not illusion, allusion but in conclusion simply love

And love is something that cant be explain by mere words

I know I may sound absurd but I crush you with love

And I am crushed by my confusion in how to portray it

For I am vexed by your beauty and the feelings that compel me

Not in the bad way, but in the good

And I would understand if you misunderstood

For love is and will forever be a universal mystery

And all i know is that I love you
