Crushed Spring Poem by Asma Khan

Crushed Spring

I opened my door today
and found the blazing sun on my doorstep
muffled in wind and scarf of clouds
with wide eyes of dreams glaring upon me
I smiled slightly and asked,
Who are you?

I laid blank under the net of diamonds
upon my face in a quiet night
and found the moon pillowed next to me
with hazy light spread around me
I smiled slightly and asked,
Who are you?

I stood alone on top of the cliff awaiting
and discovered the mountains walking towards me
with love as vast as the sight may see
I smiled slightly and asked,
Who are you?

I enclosed my heart in an envelope of memories
and sent it to you for a remembrance
with all those moments cared and shared forever
You smiled slightly and asked,
Who are you?

I locked myself in the darkness of memories
and handed you the letter
with questions and moments written down
in silver blue ink of thoughts
You smiled slightly and asked,
Who are you?
