The Heart Goes Last Poem by Asma Khan

The Heart Goes Last

Rating: 4.6

I never knew how true lies can be
until you touched my heart yet I didn't see

You will always fill a special part of my heart
an odysse that has no end but start

I for whom all hearts burn in million
yet the wanderer doesn't find a pavilion

How this life is not enough to live?
in exchange of all those tears you give

Walk away silently in the dusky shadows
on the path of those promises that froze

Why do you wage a war with fate?
nature's call to this verdict has no one to dictate

We both belonged to the similar ruins of loss
yet different ventures came to us across

blind those eyes that see nothing beyond pain
sometimes tyranny of nature gives no one any gain
