Crying Eyes Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Crying Eyes

Rating: 0.5

Oh misery, oh mournful nights
his mother left him brokenhearted.
He had thought of no-one else
since the sad day she departed.
Unhappiness, with crying eyes,
yesterday her smile was beaming,
sweet kindness had seen him through
but suddenly, life lost its meaning.

And so he walks in solitude
his teardrops out of sight ~
grieving for his 'only one'
whose precious love gave such delight.
His friends will never understand
then, how are they to know that
his heart belonged to her alone
the mother who loved him so?
