Crying For Malaysia Poem by Paul Sebastian

Crying For Malaysia

How could a defaced Nation look pretty
When she's been scared with scandals?
Could a nation be built for posterity
When she regresses, a doing by leaders?

Steeped in corruption, fallen ranks
My motherland’s ship's about to wreck
Children oblivious to her birth pangs
Ignore her labour cries, society dregs

Breeding evil motives and desires
Some intend to tear the delicate social fabric
Dishonour her, igniting racial-card fires
By a few greed-charmed political mavericks

Judiciary-system, puppet of powers that be
Law enforcers tend to serve their Masters
Whistle-blowers imprisoned as detainees
First labeled as terrorists, now are saboteurs

Within months currency free falls
Investors shiver, some are relocating
GST hurting the poor, topping hike in toll
Devaluation burden overseas students studying

Erstwhile harmony tested with religious strife
Tenets of the sacred Constitution ignored
Warning bloodsheds, ethnic labeling was rife
Seditious, yet the perpetrators not charged

I cry as my dream Mother Malaysia agonizes
My Mother Malaysia weeps as she’s lashed
Undressing her to nakedness, with excesses
She trembles, cries for help, afraid of being raped!

This is one of the most vociferous protests against the political system that is steeped in corruption giving rise to more evil in the society. More or less the situation has been the same in Asian democracies. Thank you, Paul.

Soon the tyrants will have to exit and pay for the crimes they commit. Thanks Paul.
