Crying Heart Poem by victoria suzyo phiri

Crying Heart

Why do you choose not to listen?
Is it that you do not simply care?
Is the truth a bitter pill to swallow?
When I as much as open my mouth
You staff your ears so that you
Hear nothing…. Nothing at all.
Do you not see the message in my eyes?
My eyes are crying out for you to see ME
But you will not look at me, you hide you face behind a book.
Do you not feel the touch of my hand, it whispers the words ‘I need you'
Yet all you can do is draw away from my touch without emotion…
Do you not hear that thunderous noise?
That is the sound of the breaking of the heart of a woman whose;
Voice is not heard.
Aching soul is not seen.
Love does not touch.
