Daring The Strong

Daring the strong
- - - - - - - - - - - -
Why confront a big bull
When he looks more powerful
Said my friend cool
Citing many an example
But I wanted to fight a challenge
Just as fire fights to flame
But all your efforts might go in vain
Better listen and act like a man
Though to your ears
It may sound unpleasant my dear
But for better and not for worse
A counsel cool you may hear

There lived a big tree
In the Himalayan region
And under its shade sheltered
Many a people, animal and bird
Once a wise man was passing by
Seeing the tree humbly asked
"You are so big a tree
Old enough to know good and bad
Does not the wind do you any harm?
Are you both friends? "

"Neither are we friends
Nor has he the capacity before me to stand
If at all near me he comes
He alone will be disgraced"
Haughtily the tree replied
And the wind was listening
To such arrogant talk silently
Then went to the tree
Shouted that at this very moment
He would destroy the tree
"I am not afraid of you at all
Nothing you can do to me
Said again the tree"
The wind went back saying
He would come again the day next
To finish it off

Then the tree thought
"I have done a great mistake
Indeed I am nobody
In front of his strength
Therefore, I myself will shed
All my leaves, branches and everything
Wither long before my fall"
When the wind came the day next
He saw the tree
Without leaves, boughs and other ornaments
You have done what I should have done
Now reap the result of your own haughtiness
Hence a weak man
Should never challenge a strong man…

Through a beautiful example, you have been trying to put forward a great lesson and nuggets of wisdom! If somebody challenges you for a fight, assess the capacity of your opponent! If he is weaker or mightier than you, avoid confronting him! You may fight with equals, so that you can prove your strength through a hard combat! Great write, Deepak! Enjoyed!
