Dark Sea Poem by Danielle Huffman

I am swimming in the sea of darkness
Stuggling to find my way to the surface
I sink deeper and deeper
As I struggle to hold my breath
Wait, I grip something
Maybe this will help me up
I hold on to it until it slips out of my hand
Onto the bottom of the sea
I search to find something, anything to pull me up
I look and look
But there is nothing
I sink deeper and deeper into the wet mouth of the sea
Until I let go......and I drown
