Daughters Poem by Cygnus Selene

Daughters

When God created daughters
He took very special care
To find the precious treasures
That would make them sweet and fair.

He fashioned them with sugar
And a little bit of spice.
He gave them sunny laughter
And everything that's nice.

He gave them flowery fragrance
And a very graceful smile.
He gave them great forbearance
And an awe-inspiring style.

He gave them a curious nature
To find happiness and beauty
In every big and small creature
Spreading love being their duty.

An innocent face He gave them
And made them polite and pleasant
That they could change a mayhem
Into a blissful moment.

They could fill cheers in glum situations
For cheerfulness was made their part.
But they could not bear certain conditions
For He made them soft at heart.

God smiled when He made daughters
Because He knew He had
Created love and happiness
For every mom and dad.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I read a small poem in a newspaper on Daughter's Day in 2010 and I modified it by adding a few of my own stanzas. The original poem consisted of the first two and the last stanza of this poem while I composed the rest of the poem to suit it.
