Days After You Left Poem by Arthor Journer

Days After You Left

Has a mirage taken over the landscapes of my heart’s topography?
Or my soul deceived by mirrors or trick photography
Has my eyesight been hindered by the dark gray clouds in attack
Or my hearing diminished by the train on my mind’s tracks
Is it the roaring of the crashing waves or is it thunder
Or is it just my heart my mind begins to wonder
Could it be the brightness of the sun or the reflection on the water?
Or is it the flowers that cause this faint heart to falter
Have the impressions that you left flooded my brain
Or has my tears birthed rivers like a downpour of rain
Has the wine from your lips given me this mourning hangover?
Or has my thoughts thwarted the pendulum to recover
Is it the silent phone that is so magnified in my room?
Or is it the gray clouds that hang above promising doom
Is this love that has caused all of today’s misery?
Or is it a passing fad of infatuation could this be

The image of a silent phone is striking, is it all grey? This poem is a taste of wine, without the hangover, just a sense of wonder. Thank you
