Dear Insomnia Poem by Lacey Leiann

Dear Insomnia

Dear insomnia, how have you been?
Can’t say that I’ve missed you
For you know how I’ve been

My eyes can be shot with veins so bright
My head pounding with thoughts of the night
Muscles so weak, mind so slow
Yet once I rest my head
It is only you I know

I cannot sleep, or even nap
And if I am blessed with an hour or two
Usually every 10 minutes
I am awoken by you

The regret of yesterday
The worry of today
The anxiety of tomorrow
Have all sent you invitation
To my pathetic breakdown of sorrow

Hello insomnia, how have you been.
Been a kind fellow,
And do not let depression in
