Dear Soul Poem by John kago

Dear Soul

Silent partner who is within
you who has been here since my very first heartbeat
you who has counted my every breath
you who remembers my every dream
with me every single step.

We have been through a lot you and I,
remember the long walks to class no fare
did you forget Bram's fierce calls for your salvation
all the friends we made along, some you dint approve
and of our quenchless thirst for purpose
all those sleepless nights, naive no more.

Soon our journey shall end
when I'm back to dust, when you finally depart
where I cannot tell, though I wish you well
I ask you to take these memories
take these joys, take these pains
take my triumphs, take my failures
forget me not as you drift yonder
tell them you were part of me
and how proud I was to be part of you
for all eternity.
