Death Lies Poem by Stella Omoregie

Death Lies

Pretoria...your name was your face!
Your body, the spirit you had.How much
More you had in store.
You thought me how to care.now I care more than I should.
Elogho, how did you know I had to learn to keep secrets? !
I tear, thinking aback the roads to freedom we plied when feelings are shared.
A Friend ponders: what I seek in him? !
in Gods name, I smile knowing how I wondered when you were close by.
Pretoria, I still hear your laughter,
the way you made a little something make a change:
faith in friendship; leaves me awed.
Death is a joy killer but the images of you in the spirit,
all pretty in the morning, rising sun wildness leaves some kind of amusement on my lips!
Nay! the future we planned together,
with deep regret I search your face! my heart steel and still,
I am pained for too manys dreams not fufilled, too many years not gained!
