Death's Orison Poem by Omkar Joshi

Death's Orison

The flickering light vanishes,
and darkness becomes my companion
Caressing me and soothing me,
it's hard to ignore the call of the clarion.

Now the darkness spreads to my heart,
seeping deep through my skin
Used to be made up of flesh and blood,
now it's just plain old tin.

Things that I have done
Things that I have seen
You don't know how much I long for,
for what has been.

But, I have come far,
too far to turn
Don't have anyone,
to whom I can run.

Swing that blade!
End me now!
For in my death, lies his defeat.
