You hard earned your prized high position
You’ve then forgotten your sheltered rest
You cried in rain when a dream was broken
You’ve forgotten years of snail-paced distress
Now, “Success” becomes your breast-plate
Standing on mountain-top, shout battle cry
Another life’s battle you contemplate
Another climb, new mountain to scale high
Will “success” bring back your lost flame?
Would “success” enflame a flameless heart?
Is there ember to enkindle heart’s doused flame?
Illusions clouding to stage another deep hurt?
In heart’s winter, would your fire side warm up still?
Or would you sit by your fire side pensively, alone?
Could past flames reignite love to warm you up still?
Would clouds vaporize to leave you again, forlorn?
Mistakes ghost disguised come to haunt again
Would you trade wisdom for foolishness?
Would you battle with your sword to the end?
Success is meaningless if it’s not for happiness!
26.10.2015
Success is meaningless if it's not for happiness. A great grain of wisdom. Happiness must follow a successful person, as a rule, but it seldom happens. Success as well as happiness are relative concepts and one has to decide their meaning taking in account his perception, liking and so on. A thought provoking write. Enjoyed it.10+ Regards.

Thank you for your generous comment, Ratnakar. True, success and happiness are relative concepts. From time immemorial man has searched for answers and definitions. But they are subjective
