Deep But Not Shallow Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

I would love to take dip in deep
I would frown but not prefer to weep
What is that what looks is not real?
What is use of medicine that can't heal?

Poet should be honest and good
Her/his thoughts should serve as tonic or food
Can it not have excellent edge?
Will it have to wait for advancement of age?

How can you be defined?
Until you don't stand it refined?
Purest thought may emerge and spread
Either you have to be lead or lead

What matters more is real attachment?
Why it should be taken as detachment?
What happens if nothing is received as comment?
Have we to feel bad or lament?

Well it is how you take it
Light is light whether bright or dimly lit
Poet may shed his tears through words
May it serve as sharp as edge of swords

Hardness is not subject for expression
It is self assessment or obsession
Mildness is treasure in our possession
It may come to fore in any of the session

I don't have to be deep to make it shallow
Let the natural things come out and flow
Who are we to make it or allow?
I may guess or try to follow

It may prove as magnetic pull
It may attract with force as full
Why to worry about who pulls and from where?
There is something which emerges from somewhere

I shall go by nature's law
I may be new or simply raw
But is it not the mere feeling?
Who may respond it as simply willing?


It will be sheer folly to follow the suit
It has nothing like see or wait
It has nothing to do with fate
There is nothing like early nor late

Why poles are being kept apart?
Where from you began or start?
Are they not destined to be big part?
We have to gain more but nothing to apart

They have been termed different in temperament
Different conclusions with separate comments
One is extremely cold, unbearable and inhospitable
Another one easy to access and compatible

I would love not to be amused
May have fair ideas but not confused
It is how you take and present?
Wise counsel not to be absent

Soul may not go for it or search
Good philosopher may have to make research
I am for sure it has some holy connection
Is it waiting for any direction or action?
