Deep Valley Poem by Sandeep Mandal

Deep Valley

A valley of lush intoxicating flora
Of the most wildest nature
Untampered, unharmed, unhurried
In her appeal to love in modest bid
Thriving in the deepest depth
Beyond all human reach
Futile too are all the texts that could ever tell
How to love and be loved
How to see the unseen
To rejoice in the delicacy of the vast green.

As with time the ascend gets steeper
The valley goes far and far deeper
Yet ever growing, ever flourishing
By nourishment uninterruptedly supplied
From beneath the stony surface
That so many nutrients hides
Of unwavering love and affection
That with years of longing to be one
With the reddest rose rare
Become more and more sublime
And get diffused across the valley
Into the heavily invigorating smell
Of the weeds wild
And the mellowing sun mild
Softened further by the warbling note of linnet
And many more known and unknown
Feeding on the nectar
Grown by the most affectionate hand
That first breathed life into all matter.

This I still see in your eyes
Moistened by the dew of both affection and affliction
Years went by
And now standing lonely at the edge
With the pensive hues of the western sky
Glistening like the first risen star
On the waves of bygone years
That still stabs and bleeds forth
A joy of togetherness merely lasting for an hour or so
Thenceforth this far I reached driven by the flow
That hears no lament of separation
No regrets no looking backward
Only moves forward and onward.

Quite true
Or know not whether a lie
Yet the sun remained the same and the sky
With the stars still flirting
With the moon bright and wane
And I in moments of solitude
Still bask in the warmth
Of the two radiant stars
That adorned your soft grace
Making it more softer than your face
Still once more I crave to dive in those beautiful symmetry
Still baffled by the sweet mystery
Find them to be far far more brighter
Than even the one that once shone
On the most high
On their way found by the Magi.
May they shine forever and ever
Though forbidden for me to stare
I shall feed them with the burning fire
Whether I live on earth or beyond next to my Sire.
