Defeat Poem by Jeff Stella

Defeat

Sad, the life of an empty day,
Cold, the night of a lonely way,
Blue, the color of a broken heart,
Sorrow is the path of another false start.

Absent, the place of a given boon,
Red, the end of a weary moon,
Broken, the road out of town,
Life at the edge draws a wicked frown.

Reserved, the manner of a shy guy,
Clear, the form of a lightened sky,
Small, the value of a broken try,
Love unreturned, you can see in the eye,

Defeat, the result of a woman's hand,
Time, what passes like grains of sand,
Dull, the hours and lost, the days,
Gone forever, the suns golden rays.
