Defrost My Heart Poem by Jack Abdallah

Defrost My Heart

I'm like a solid stone
And oh, so do I wait?
As with each breath so cold
I'm in a frozen state
As I reach for the sheets
They form to icy slates
And in my heart lies heat
But only ice awaits
Yet still do I breathe out
But only clouds of smoke
My lips to form out words
The last of words I spoke
For now I surrender
As all my love is gone
The cold now beckons me
The heat now a mere pawn
For warmth it seems so late
I slowly fall apart
And one love left awaits
Please come defrost my heart
