Delayed Reaction Poem by Jess Terry

Delayed Reaction

I know that I delayed this,
when it was really inevitable,
but I want to scream at you,
to punch you
and break down,
how could you put
me through this
this decision
this heartache,
this pain,
did you not see
I couldn't take it,
I am not strong
enough
How do you even
sleep at night
or continue your life,
like nothing happened
her heartbeat was there,
hiding under my skin
and without a second thought

you ended it

Jess this is truly devastating in its insinuation; I hope it is only words from the mind being spoken and not from experience. So sad, yet a heart reaching expression. Very nice Jess.
