Delirious Poem by Antoinette Kopperfield

Delirious

I walked in uncertainty
thinking of you
and the trials
which passed
one right after the other.

You were oblivious
as the darkness
suddenly came upon you
and followed
in your footsteps.

You were hiding truths
which gave you a mask
so the acting on your stage
would no longer suffice.

You became one with the energies
which were handed out
like candy
coated with thorns.

Yet now,
life's new meaning
is only a thought,
and happiness
becomes whisked away

like a bird
who falls from a nest
though this time
its mother
is not watching.

Light through obscurity
is waiting
like sunshine
on a cloudy day
though you must find it.
