Denial Poem by Paige DeRogatis

Denial

Welcome to this land

Where flowers have stopped blooming

Where leaves have dwindled to the ground

Where people stopped consuming

Where streaks of grey paint rain-filled clouds

And birds sing silent symphonies

Tornados swallow up the homes

And livid flames demolish trees

This world of hateful passion

That's full of pain and vile

Is where you'll spend most of your life

In this state known as denial
