Departure Poem by Ilari Rahja

Departure

A short holiday.
From duty, training.
Practice of doom.
I took.

To rest, see family.
Some friends anew.
Refresh the bonds.
That bind.

Identify - Our life.
Late evening.
Went out to see.
What goes on?

Unexpected night.
For alone, I ended.
Sat within crowd.
Noise and loud.

No friend.
Familiar face.
To be found.

This lonely heart's eve.

Finally caught.
Thy glimpse, curiosity.
Talked, offered my help.
Assistance to thee.

Together went.
Starlight lady.
Gentleman, to be.

Talked, romanced.
Played upon twilight.
Throughout the night.
Burning soul.

Desire of love.
Temptations wild.
Loneliness bonded.
Fantasy relief.

Then morning came.
Early dawn.
The moment had come.
For my leave, duty call.

To sacrifice thee.
Exchange, my love.
For a cause.
Greater than me.

Return, service - Our clause.

Away, I went.
Left you by the door.
Please suffer, these pains dear.
Farewell, my sweet.

For another day - Maybe!
We shall live, meet again.
