Depths Of Despair Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Depths Of Despair

Thinking with thoughts not sought,
To base upon facts.
Is a dangerous act.
For many attempting to walk through life,
To believe this could be successfully done.
Without a safety net to then expect,
Such a brave undertaking...
Will have them hear thunderous applause.
Coming from a crowd of cheering clappers.
Also to have done the same thing.
Jumping to conclusions.
And assumptions to survive.
Yet,
Unexpectedly...
Found themselves in depths of despair.
With few empathizing with their tears to share.
To have discovered,
Leaving stupidity left where it is...
Is the best teacher that provides,
A one-on-one experience.
And a relationship with lessons to learn.
Those refusing to pay attention,
Undivided to give...
Eventually realize the importance this is.
Sooner or later to emphasize as a priority.
