Despise Not Wisdom Poem by Paul Sebastian

Despise Not Wisdom

Despise not wisdom
For it is God’s gift
To the ages
To the sages
To the teachers
To the chosen ones
To bring man
To His full knowledge
To live in His presence
Among all men

Forsake not Lady Wisdom
To bargain a forsaken life
Let her rule your kingdom
When she reigns, you thrive

Seek her with all your heart
Abuse her not, with ignorance
Cheat not, like the unwise
By choice, suffer own damnation
Repeating mistake after mistakes
Having not learnt from wisdom

Travel the road of happiness
Wisdom discerns right choices
Failed attempts are lessons
Keep destination always in focus

Pray for God-led directions
Pray for courage and faith
Pray for divine interventions
Pray for enduring strength

Strive to do your utmost best
Price of success is to be fully paid
Know God would then do the rest
Grow learning how leadership, is led

This is an exuberant poem, if positive feelings have spiritual energy (and I believe they do) , your poem will redirect people's actions from foolishness to wisdom. I like your address to L-A-D-Y WISDOM; it reminds me in the beautiful Old Testament Book of Wisdom wisdom is given the female name Sophia, and Socrates invokes a female wisdom figure named Diotima at the end of SYMPOSIUM. Your poem joins these exalted old works in a contemporary appeal for the goal of wisdom in our lives,
