Deus Absconditus



When the fittest who survive will eat us
thanks to evolutionary powers
will the deus who is absconditus
listen to their prayers or ours,
or will he’ll stubbornly refuse to write
them in his book of life, the sacred ledger,
because they proved that Darwin got it right
demoting Moses’ theories? ––you betcha!
