Devastatingly Handsome & On The Run Poem by Leah Ayliffe

Devastatingly Handsome & On The Run

Rating: 2.8

The map has been burned.
Don’t you worry, I know the landscape by memory.
We were born in the fast lane,
We will die there too.
Cause the open road knows too well
The flames it inspires,
The innocence it kills.
I want to be wrapped in your arms
Stay lost for a million years
While the moon sings its song
While we get down to our desire,
It is you, the one thing I need.
The stars know no direction
They’ll be our guide
In this universe of ours,
Our charming addiction.
This was never ours to keep
Even such a simple dream
But you were my dream
My devastatingly handsome man
And you tell me what makes me your dream girl
With a laugh like an angel
I cried.
Don’t you go, don’t you go sweet boy
Don’t leave me behind
