Devil's Tale Poem by jessica ng kai lun

Devil's Tale

Let me tell you the tale
of the poor forsaken devil
he was born a strong male
but yet the doctors suspected his intelligence level
his mother refused to take a look at him
abandoning him, naming him a monster
he was but a little boy, horribly thin
loving his mother
not knowing that the person who cast him aside was her
he thought he was a bother
and tried to keep out of her way
he thought his mother loved him
but she didn't care less if he had a tooth decay
he asked her, 'if i may...'
she immediately answered, 'No! '
he tried again day by day
'Why can't your BRAINS grow? '
then one day he came to know
his mother was not fond of him
she wouldn't get food to fill his bowl
she didn't care when he lighted the lamp when it was dim
she didn't give him anything for affection
she didn't look at him once
so he tried to get into his mother's detection
but she screamed, ' i don't want to get an ounce
of me near you! '
and when he tried to draw her a drawing
using colours red, yellow and blue
she simply stared at him and started tearing
it to pieces
it wasn't his fault that he couldn't recognise
the colours all seemed to be alike by inches
but who would symphatize
someone who doesn't look like a human
he thought of that one day and finally snapped
he would no longer be a burden
around his finger a simple logic wrapped
i could kill her and then she will finally look at me
this is the only way i can think of to let her see
me, i am here
mother, shall i lure
you into my trap
no! he finally thought
this is part of the life map
i have to make my destination and make my dream sought
mother, how i wish you can really look at me in the eye
and tell me you love me
these simple words will make me cry
and i can finally smile in glee
mother, i believe that one day i will be able to make you look at me
will you say that you love me?
