Is Life Merely But A Game?

Is life merely but a game
I've played against the rules
ever since you came
i've had the blues
i was so blind i couldn't see
i was no longer me
i wasn't the same jolly good fellow
i've changed to blue right from mellow
i became the dark shade of black instead of yellow
i was going against the rules
i knew that
but yet i still loved you senselessly like a fool
you treated me like a dog, a cat
i didn't mind the penalty
of going against the rules
but once i realised the salty
taste that has painstakingly touched my bruised lips
i knew it was a mistake to love you
you're a creep
i'm not yours to keep
i know i have broken the rules
and i know my mistake
don't take me for a fool
i'm no longer your keepsake
Is life just a game
to fool people craving for love
but in the end, it's all the same
there is no one who can fit you like a glove
we all know that
but why do we still crave
for the love that might drive us mad
let me tell you, Dave
perhaps there really is something called love
but for now i rather be a free dove
there is however, one question atill unanswered:
Is life merely but a game?
