Devils Sea Poem by Rick De La Pena

Devils Sea

Rating: 4.5

Waters calm swimming in the torrents of pleasures that be
Before I know I'm engulfed in the devil's sea
Feeling frightened I realize I cannot breathe
My mind screaming for things still I cannot see
Pleading for mercy, please save me
I pass out in my simile.
Body above the waters calming spirit of life's trials
In the distance I hear her heartbeat for thousands of miles
Her arms reaching, love on a reef
stealing my heartache in the night like a thief.
