Dialogue With A Demon Poem by Sheena Blackhall

Dialogue With A Demon

Dear Madam:
I am your Demon Write-a-lot
You always give me all you've got
You'd rather stay in than go out
The world outside may wave and shout
May stamp and plead and beg and pout
You care for real life not a jot
I am your Demon Write-a-lot

Dear Demon:
If I compared you in my head
To a small stool or double bed
You'd always have the lion's share
You're here you're there, you're everywhere
I can't control the world you see
Its troubles, woes, calamity
But you, dear Demon, keep me sane
When I'm inside the window pane
