Diamonds And Roses Poem by Jimmy L. Lyons

Diamonds And Roses

Her smile is so, so beautiful to me, this lady I know;
her dancing puts me in the mood and makes my spirit glow.
I love it when she sings and dances to that gospel, "Yes Lord; "
when I hear her voice and see her move I'm never, ever bored.

This lady I know looks so fine in church when she dances and sings;
she gives me such joy and happiness that I feel like I've got wings.
She loves diamonds and roses, and she wears them with all of her dresses;
she sings and dances so beautifully that it takes away all of my stresses.

The long, beautiful dresses she wears make her the apple of my eye;
when she looks at me with her gorgeous eyes, my spirit wants to fly.
When she smiles her beautiful smile at me, I feel it deep in my heart;
and when we go our separate ways, I don't want us to be apart.

I confess that I love this lady, who loves her diamonds and roses;
she hasn't said what she thinks of me, but I hope that she someday discloses
that she knows how I feel: that I think she's the best;
and she knows that - whatever happens - I want her to be blessed.
