Distant Memories Poem by Somebody Special

Distant Memories

Shutting it all out it.
I don't want to hear any of this.
Facing the absence of truth.
Living in a world with no conscience.

You are just like me.
You are just like me.

Stabbing at the heart of the problem.
Trying to keep it secret as if the telling of it will undo everything.
Fooling ourselves.
Head in the clouds.
Living in a world with no conscience.

Face it

You are just like me.

Face it.

You are just like me.

Why should anyone believe in something so broken.
We already wasted enough time waiting for these changes.
If you will not come to us we will go to you.
Living in a world with no conscience.

Face it

You are just like me.

Face it.

You are just like me.

Just like me.

Nothing innocent about it.
I walked over bodies to get where I am at.
Destroyer, Murderous Enslaver.
Fortune behind a name.
Living in a world with no conscience.
I want it to be the way it use to be.

Face it

You are just like me.

Face it.

You are just like me.

Just like me.

We are all distant memories.
