Divorced Poem by Gregory Krabbe

Divorced

She’s not just a sporty Roadster, nor an elegant sedan,
She agreed to be the wife if you agreed to be the man,

Then she raised the kids and fed you, probably worked a second job,
She refined the role of mother, you resigned to be a slob,

She divorced you as she should have, you were shocked beyond belief, She had feelings brains and limits, for excuses and the grief,

Now she’s found another suitor, and you’re broken in dismay,
You are shocked at this betrayal, how could she give up? , this way,

Love will have its sense of justice, it may spare us in our youth,
Like a dedicated teacher, women always know the truth,

There are rules in life and loving, so my friends be sure you know’em,
Better off to be the suitor, than the guy that writes the poem!
