Do I Listen As Well As I Talk? Poem by Chuy Amante

Do I Listen As Well As I Talk?

Rating: 5.0

Here is a flashcard for YOU
and for all who communicate

do you intently listen
or do you bulldoze and debate?

if you must be heard
and YOUR stories are the best
your broken ego child rules
all others find you a pest

try asking more questions
and discovering the other
you'll be dumbfounded
at your astounding brother!

bide your tongue
you tire kind folks ears
who don't shut you up
but you bore us to tears

Listen
be still
Listen and discover,
enough of you
seek The Other
