Do I Think About You? Poem by ART PAUL SCHLOSSER

Do I Think About You?

* Chorus:
Well you ask me a question
And you want a reply
Should I tell you the truth?
Or would you rather me lie?
Do I think about you?
Do I dare?
Did you think about me?
Did you care?

1.Yeah I thought about you
You threw me for a loop
I thought about you
I was duped
You told me you loved me
Then you fell for someone else
Was it because I was poor?
Or was it because he had wealth? *

2.Well I did think about you
In that black Limousine
Yeah I thought about you
How you looked so very keen
But I didn't see you much after that
Now 10 years you show up very fat*

3.Well I thought about you
Yeah it's really true
I so much about you
But what could I do?
I never was good at chasings clouds
If the plays over you take your bows*

4.You never did say much
About how you felt
I guess you can only play the cards
That you are dealt
And when the snow did melt
You found a gold ring and left me without help*

5.But now you wonder
After all these years
The lighting, earthquakes & thunder
The many nights of tears
Do I think about you?
Do I still care?
Do you want the truth?
Do you really dear? *

6.Cause I thought about you
But now I could careless
Don't play me for a fool
Don't second guess
Cause I think about you
Like arsenic and oldlace
I think about you
But keep your suitcase
Cause I don't want to die in your arms
I don't want to fall for your deceiving charms*

7.The bright shiny smile
The innocent eyes
The complimentary words
With a skillful disguise
You may buy me a ticket to London or France
But there won't be no music because I'm not going to dance*

8.So put away your wallet
And don't waist your tears
Yeah put away that liquor
Cause I don't drink beer
I'm not looking for Sympathy
I have no regrets
I'd rather be free
Than on a leer jet
All the money in the world
Won't buy back my love
You had it yesterday
But you flew like a dove*

I guess it speaks for itself or you don't know what you had until it's gone.

A very touching piece of verse. The heartfelt emotion behind this is extremely relatable
