Doesn'T Matter If Poem by Francis Duggan

Doesn'T Matter If

Doesn't matter if many what I pen do not read or recite
I am just one of those blokes who does like to write
And though my worth as a writer may well be in doubt
There's never a shortage of things on which to write about.

Doesn't matter if I'll never know of success or fame
Or if very few do know of me by name
I will keep on penning despite of what some do say
What I do enjoy doing why should I give away.

Doesn't matter if shortly after drawing my last breath
That my name is doomed to die with me in death
I will keep on writing and though my best days long gone
For as long as I live I will keep penning on.
